Pattern of Patients in Intensive Care Unit in a Tertiary Care Hospital in Lumbini Province Nepal

BACKGROUND Intensive care is a crucial component of hospital care, reserved for patients with potentially recoverable conditions who can benefit from invasive treatment. However, in developing countries like Nepal, resources and availability intensive become hurdles delivering healthcare. This study presents the pattern admission outcome patients' management general unit (ICU) this tertiary center Lumbini Province, Nepal. 
 METHODS A cross sectional conducted Department Internal Medicine, Bheri Hospital between July 2021 to June 2022. total 792 patient’s details were obtained record section. Demographic data, diagnosis, duration stay ICU, managing units, collected analyzed Statistical Package Social Sciences 20.
 RESULTS 729 admitted period; 57.82% male 42.18% female. Majority 60% admissions Medicine followed by Cardiology 24% Surgery 10%. Pneumonia Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease 18.30% Myocardial Infraction 14.52%, Acute abdomen 10.22% sepsis 9.84% most common morbidity. Mean ICU was 3.5. days. Discharge rate 69.82% mortality 17.80 %. CONCLUSION The mostly Medical cases. Surgical obstetric cases lesser number. outcomes comparable other multidisciplinary similar settings.
